“These interpretations of classic compositions by Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton, Thelonious Monk and Louis Armstrong, along with two originals, are an affectionate tribute to great music. Better than imitation or flattery, Homage is praise anew” ☆☆☆☆ Roger Mitchell, SMH

“Every track here holds the listener’s attention. The standout: their take on Armstrong’s Hotter Than That. Everything old is new again.” ☆☆☆☆ Leon Gettler, The Age, Green Guide

“Browne is steeped in playing the music of Ellington, Armstrong and Morton in the 1920s style; Hannaford is one of the most forward thinking Australian jazz musicians and Annings warmth ensures the results never seem like a musicological exercise. Exceptional trio.” John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald

“Every minute of this record jumps for joy, it must be said. At no point does it feel like players soloing on a set of classic changes. Consider the honour of the jazz standard suitably upheld.” Review in Readings Magazine

“Homage is so impressive that I would be very surprised if it wasn’t nominated for a 2009 ARIA Award.” Viktor Zappner, The Advocate
