Altamease Nelson
Raised in Detroit, Michigan. Studied voice in New York at the Third Street Music Settlement and with Carlotta Wilson. Sang at several well known New York venues, i.e. Casablanca, Small's Paradise, Broadway Lounge, Catch a Rising Star.
Returned to Detroit, Michigan in 1981 and continued music career singing at Baker's Keyboard Lounge and MGM Grand Casino-Detroit.
Have been compared to the late great Sarah Vaughan.
