Andrea Watts

Andrea was born in New Hampshire, grew up in Southern California, has been living in New York since '88 and, has been singing and performing for many years. From '95 to '02 she sang Italian standards such as: O Sole Mio, Mama, Al Di La, Italia, Mala Femina, Romana Guitar, Luna Canadese, etc. in a cute little Italian restaurant in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn called Mambo Italiano -- she was their "Italian" singer! She also worked with an R&B producer for several years and co-wrote and recorded over 80 R&B songs. In addition, she did session work for Reggae artist Rockie Dan (www.Myspace.com/Rockiedan). In addition to her recording credits, Andrea also had the distinct pleasure and honor of recording vocal tracks with Grammy and MTV award winner MOBY! She also sung back-up for a David Bowie tribute band, various dance cover bands, as well as, led her own band called THE WATTS RIOT! and co-led the original rock band MOROCCAN SHEEPHERDERS. In addition, she currently sings with the NYC classic rock band MIGHTY WOODROWE's guitar trio known as SPONGEWORTHY featuring Gus Fafalios, Benny Landa and Cary Scope. In addition, she also sings back-up for another NYC classic rock band known as CHUM and over the years has performed at such venues as: The China Club, CBGB's, The Bitter End, The Red Lion, The Lizard Lounge, Prohibition, Ace of Clubs, American Trash, Justin Timberlake's Southern Hospitality, The Carnegie Club, etc. Andrea discovered that after many years of singing various styles of music, the style that best suits her voice and persona, the style that fits her like an old comfortable cashmere sweater is the sweet sounds of jazz! Very recently she put together a jazz trio comprised of some of NYC's hottest musicians and these days can be found performing at The Carnegie Club.
