Andy Guthrie
Andy Guthrie has recorded and produced three albums of original songs: least common denominator (1999), 1616 Burdette (2001) and Milk and Waste (2005). An unheard of mix of British pop, folk and jazz, Andy Guthrie’s music is at the same time passionate and controlled, sincere and sophisticated, vibrant and cynical.
Andy Guthrie plays regularly in New York City and has played in Boston, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, New Orleans, and recently made his debut in Lyon, France. Trained as a composer (M.A. in Music Composition, Tulane University 2001), he has been involved in the performance, composition and direction of numerous musicals, classical and jazz concerts. He composed for Off Broadway play Women Slightly on the Edge (2005) at the American Globe Theatre in New York and recently composed for Charla or a Talk with Jose Marti (2007) from a grant by the Florida Humanties Council.
