Aviv Cohen

Born in Israel in 1983, drummer and composer Aviv Cohen started playing music at the age of fourteen. In 1999, he enrolled in the Jerusalem's School of Arts. After graduating in 2001, he continued to grow at the prestigious School of Arts of Rimon, studying in the jazz department. Cohen moved from Jerusalem to New York City in 2005 and quickly established himself as a much-in-demand artist through his formidable technique, deep groove, and strong sense of individuality. Cohen has become a favorite among musicians and fans alike, bringing a unique approach to his instrument, strongly rooted in jazz, electronica, groove, and with a decidedly international, multi-ethnic dimension. He has recorded and performed with Dana Leong, Yoni Rechter, Jason Lindner, Christian Howes, Husnu Senlendirici, Daniel Zamir, Sam Barsh, Chris Parrello, Eli Degibri, Omer Avital, Marina Maximilian Blumin and Asaf Avidan.
