Ben Bowen
He currently plays trumpet and mellophone in the Toronto-based Book of Gnomes, an electroacoustic collaboration between Nick Zubeck (Barzin, Polmo Popo, Great Lake Swimmers), Darren Wall (Harry Pickens, Barzin, Delfeayo Marsalis), Marshall Bureau (A Northern Chorus, Erika Werry, Nick Zubeck), and Ben Bowen (Great Aunt Ida, A Northern Chorus, Junetile). The music, primarily in the form of multi-part instrumental "indie rock jazz" suites, combines elements of pop and folk music with ambience and improvisation.
