Bob Stone
Bob Stone, the Founder and Musical Director of The Naples Jazz Orchestra, brings over forty (40) years of musical experience to the organization. This includes professional performance, ensemble development, musical directing/conducting, and teaching/mentoring students and professional musicians. Mr. Stone has had performance engagements with over 80 headliners, including some of the greatest names and organizations in American jazz and popular music such as Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Lionel Hampton, Harry James, The Four Freshmen, and many, many more. He formed, managed, directed, promoted and played in one of the most famous big bands of its era, The Bob Stone Big Band, in Chicago, IL 1976-1989.
Mr. Stone has taught jazz performance in a variety of professional, college and high school settings, including the Chicago Public Schools, Vandercook College, Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Camps, and locally at Collier County Public Schools, and Saint John Neumann H.S.
