Chris Aschman

Trumpeter/steelpan musician Chris Aschman enjoys a multi-faceted career as a performer, educator, studio musician, and arranger. Currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, he brings a special versatility to the many ensembles he performs with. 

A Baltimore native, Chris segued to Philadelphia to study jazz trumpet at the University of the Arts with John Swana and George Rabbai in 2004. Since this time he has enjoyed a diverse career, having shared the stage with Paquito D’Rivera, Stanley Clarke, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Bakithi Kumalo, Chaka Khan, Kool and the Gang, Andy Narell, Guster, Father John Misty, The O’Jays, The Boxtops, G Love and Special Sauce, Lotus, Dopapod, Tauk, and many others. He has performed at venues such as Philadelphia's Verizon Hall, The National Cathedral in Washington DC, the Queens Park Savannah in Port of Spain Trinidad, Iridium (NYC), Smalls (NYC), The Jazz Standard (NYC), The Herbst Theatre (SF), August Hall (SF), Yoshi's Oakland, and more. 

He has been featured on a plethora of recordings within genres such as Straight-Ahead Jazz, Rnb, Jam Band, Latin Jazz, Reggae, World and Afro-jazz, but the best examples of his original work may be heard on Trinidelphia's 2019 release "Color Wheel," with his original Caribbean Fusion ensemble, which is available on all streaming platforms. His new original project Sky.Daddy is set to launch in the Summer of 2023.

Jazz Bridge Third Thursday Neighborhood Concert Series on The Main Line presents Trinidelphia with Chris Aschman at The New Leaf Club—1225 Montrose Avenue in Rosemont—on Thursday, April 16.
