i’ve never been one for introductions, a good firm handshake is about as far as i ever get. I’m Christopher Davis-Shannon, although primarily a jazz bassist, i dabble in many other artistic fields, a writer, painter, and composer residing in the greater philadelphia area.
Music started as a love for me at about age three, but never really came to fruition until my late high school years. I have played in numerous rock bands, but found my true love in keeping a steady quarter note in the low end.
I am a strong lover of the 1940s swing era, as a bass player, there is a certain feeling that I obtain from the likes of glen miller, tommy dorsey, and woody herman, a certain emotion in the music that, although pop biased, contains an affect that can not be duplicated in today’s world...
