David Langlois

David Langlois was born in Paris, France, where he took up the drum set at age fifteen.

A year later, he began his training with Johnny Stadler, At 21, he was hired as a full time musician to play the washboard and the drum set, it was then that David invented his signature washboard instrument, and polished his unique washboard technique, which immediately attracted several avenues of professional work.

In 1994, David founded his own band, "The Sun Side Jazz Band", performed at numerous concerts throughout Europe and released two albums "Sun Side in the Street" and "Swingin' Leman".

In 2003, after several trips in and around Africa where he learned how to play the Djembe , David moved to New York to play intensively with Stephane Wrembel's Trio, The Blue Vipers Of Brooklyn and Steve Adelson.

Since, David had collaborated with Bette Midler, Paul Mc Cartney, Les Paul, David Grisman, Paquito D' Rivera, Angelo Debarre, Dorado Schmitt, Roger Kellaway, etc…

David performs regularly in some prestigious venues like Lincoln Center, Birdland, Iridium, Joe's Pub, Knitting Factory, etc… Recording work includes 15 Albums, 3 DVDs and 4 Movies
