David Ryshpan
The Montreal based Indigone Trio plays a striking brand of modern acoustic jazz, using repertoire spanning from Paul Simon to Ornette Coleman, original compositions and standards. Since their formation as a McGill University student group in 2003, the trio has been exploring and expanding their personal and collective musical visions. As a group they have accompanied great Canadian saxophonist Kirk MacDonald, and have performed widely in the Montreal area. They are the only Canadian student group invited to the 2006 International Association for Jazz Education Conference. Young and energetic, this group has a compelling stage presence and brings an innovative approach to contemporary jazz music. Indigone Trio's new full-length album, Cycles, was released by Ropeadope Digital in 2008

Through poetry, music, dance and visual elements, Alicuanta is an examination of the memory of an ancestor; an attempt to find peace within the tumultuous history of 1920s Mexico.
