A native of Taiwan, Emily began her study of violin at the age of seven. She comes from a family of music. In 1998 she was awarded a full scholarship at the Chinese Culture University. In 1999, she moved to Canada where she met Sydney Humphreys, who greatly influenced her musical training. She has studied with Yahonaton Berick, Mark Gothoni and currently with Denise Lupien. In 2003, Emily received a Bachelor of Music in Performance (with distinction) and in 2005 a Master of Music in Performance -- both from McGill University. Each summer she participates in music festivals across Canada, Asia and America and works in music camps including Brott festival, Aspen music festival, Taipei Music Festival.

In 2008 She moved to Toronto as an active chamber and orchestra musician, playing with Kitchener-waterloo symphony orchestra, Toronto Philharmonia orchestra, Ontario philharmonic orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic orchestra, Peterborough symphony, Georgian Bay symphony, Brampton lyric opera, wish opera and Kitchner opera, second principal with Cathedral Bluff symphony orchestra and Greater Toronto Philharmonic orchestra. Along with performing, Emily has a busy schedule with her studio in north york.
