Kevin Lee Edwards

In the early 2000s, as an artist/songwriter Kevin Lee Edwards started writing and recording tracks that would become his first digitally released album entitled, “Inner Thoughts Volume 1” released through cdfreedom and iTunes 2 February 2007. Kevin is a native of Chicago Illinois. He has been involved in music from the age of an adolescent playing percussion in his Jr. High School band. Kevin has played music throughout his high school years, as a trombonist in the Manley H.S Jazz Band in Chicago Illinois. He released, "Inner Thought" on his independent label KLE Recordings. The entire project was recording using Cakewalk software Sonar 5, Home Studio Sonar 6; and edited with Adobe Audition 1.5 and 2.0. He used the Korg Triton Le, Micro Korg, Korg M1, and Roland 2020XV as the principle instruments on all of his projects. The Music XPC professional computer is another tool in Kevin’ arsenal, the computer transmitted through a Yamaha MW 12 to complete a sufficient amount of pre-production in his home studio. He performed and composed all original music on his projects.

Kevin is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Art & Science (NARAS){Grammy}, an active member of the GrammyU and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and & Publishers (ASCAP) programs. Garageband.com awarded Kevin with the track of the day, on 20 June 2007 for his song “Dance with You”. On 3 July 2007, Kevin released his second digital album entitled, “I Am All About My Music”. In 1990, Kevin began to teach himself to play the keyboard; he later mastered the art of creating music using MIDI equipment and computers. Kevin has been writing and recording since 1996. He recorded several demos before completing first CD in 2006. Kevin Lee Edwards does not want his music categorized because his music taste has grown immensely though out his life. Genre names would not do his music justice. Kevin’ influence come from kinds of music, which are evident on his tracks. Kevin has been influence by Hip-Hop, Rock, and Pop. He is also influenced by R&B, Trip-Hop (namely Tricky and Massive Attack), Electronic, Jazz and Alternative music. Kevin feels that his music defies genre and he likes it that way. Every time he tried to copy another artist style, he created something unique and personal.
