Corrie van Binsbergen
In 1986, she started her own band Corrie en de Brokken. Ten years later, she founded the Stichting Brokken realising every one or two years a new, surprising and succesfull production where she brings together different musical styles or artforms for a far more broader public than only jazz reaches.
She received numerous commissions, i.e. NPS Jazzmarathon, the European Woman in Music Congress, the Mondriaan String Quartet, the Holland Festival, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Filmmuseum, the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, The Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Asko Ensemble.

Dutch guitarist Corrie van Binsbergen's musical aesthetics are often compared to charismatic, extrovert guitarists from the school of Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa or Marc Ribot. Her first solo album is something completely different. It began to take form by accident after a scheduled recording was cancelled and van Binsbergen, with encouragement from pianist Albert van Veenendaal, decided consciously not to prepare for it, play tabula rasa, and see where the music will take her and take off.
