Philippe Ciminato
Philippe's first release (January 2010) is the album "Collective Messkeepers" (Demajors) with modern Jazz quintet TAO KOMBO based in Indonesia. His new album as composer and leader has been recorded in Antibes, France in September 2017 and is to be released by summer 2018. The line-up is with Richard Maegraith on tenor sax and flute, Stefano Maurizi on piano, Sofian El Mabrouk on Bass and Davy Sur on Drums. Philippe is now performing with Mazamorra, Adrien Brandeis, Jean-Luc Danna and as a well in-demand freelance session percussionist.
Having completed his academic studies of classical and contemporary/Jazz Music majoring in Afro-Cuban, Philippe applies this rich heritage of influences on percussion instruments from all over the world. Sharing, Exploring, Freedom of expression... Peace, Light, Love & Joy !

Experienced in Europe and South-East Asia, teaching at Institut Musik Daya Indonesia, La Bottega delle Percussioni, Palermo, Italy... With dedication and fun, teaching based from the Afro-Cuban modern school of hand techniques and academic methods of pedagogy, Philippe Ciminato transmits the concepts of hand drumming to apply to any other percussion instruments, helping the student to develop his/her own identity through strong techniques, knowledge of Afro Latin rhythms and creativity.
