Doug Robinson

Primary Instrument: Piano

Born: September 12, 1955

Doug Robinson

I'm a composer and multi-instrumentalist who has recorded with Frank Rehak, Mike Stern, John Patitucci, Peter Erskine, Bob Sheppard and others.

Since moving to central Mexico in 2004, almost all of my performing has been down here—jazz festivals, concerts and one glorious production called A Forest Of Americas that combined jazz, classical and pre-Hispanic instruments.

Now I've decided to play a bit in my old stomping grounds of San Diego, with a concert at Dizzy's in Pacific Beach on Thursday January 30th, where I'll be joined by bassist Bob Magnusson and drummer Duncan Moore. Come on by!

”While Robinson has technical facility to spare, feeling is primary in his music and especially on his new CD SOLO/PIANO. The tracks brim with emotion.” JAZZIZ Magazine, Summer 2013
