Drivetime knows the inside of smooth jazz - they sound like the radio!
Totally professional always the best to work with. With many bands, overdubs
(re-recording parts) are a way of life - but these guys didn't even know the
meaning of the word! Live and smooth all the way. It was a pleasure to listen
to them play live in the Slot One Studio.” —Rick Denzien, Owner/Producer,
Slot 1 Studio
Drivetime's mellow beats and chilled out grooves move me. And it's always a
party" —Sue Brown - SP Industries, Corporate Event
“I truly love this band because they move effortlessly through a vast array of
great songs. They make it look easy and they always look like they’re having
fun. Who wouldn’t want to listen to band like that”? —Paul M. Fine - Principle

"I really love [Ignition] very much! It's deep and real and at times
driving...
hence the name!" —Sandy Shore, President/Founder, Smoothjazz.com
“This group of great musicians know as Drivetime has been together making
music for a
very long time and with their latest project Ignition has taken
Urban Organic Jazz
to a new level and breathes greatly needed life into it." —Michael Tozzie,
President/Founder, ijazzglobal.com
"[Ignition] is the second album by this band from Philadelphia
that I listen to. I must admit that
their Urban Organic Jazz has evolved since the last time, it has a funky
groove, it’s jazzy and
very melodic. Their sound means that real musicians actually play real
instruments, without
loops and samples. Most of the tracks are original compositions. On ‘Lincoln
Drive’ you can
hear saxophonist Andrew Neu, and ‘It’s Love We’re In’ is sung by Phyllis
Chapell. The cover
‘Mas Que Nada’ by Jorge Ben is again sung by Phyllis Chapell, and of course
the track has a
nice Latin feel. On ‘Urban Symphony’, vocalist Justin Guarini shows off, while
the mid-tempo
‘On My Mind Again’ features guitarist Vinnie Zummo. The band closes with
‘Mamita’, a
swinging Latin track. A nice marriage between old school and contemporary
jazz." —Patrick Van de Wiele, Smoothjazz.eu
