Dylan Rynhart is a composer of many genres. He founded award winning jazz orchestra Fuzzy Logic Ensemble and has made two albums of his music with them. Dylan has scored music for theatre, an award winning short film and became involved in electro-acoustic composition and surround sound through his masters in music technology from Trinity college. He has also received commissions to write for contemporary classical ensembles, including sax and string quartets. In october 2005 I was awarded The Guinness Cork jazz festival's "Best young Irish jazz artist" award, this was the inaugural year for this award and it was presented by BBC radio producer Keith Loxam and jazz legends; David Amram and Jon Faddis. In the Irish Examiner, December 2005 i was voted 26th in a list of the top 50, most influential people in the Irish music scene. The reason given for my inclusion in this list was; "exceptional young talent". In 2005 i was commissioned by dyehouse films to compose the soundtrack for "nun more deadly" a film noir comedy. The short film won the following awards; The audience award for best irish short at the Cork international film festival The award for best fiction at the Sligo short film festival. And the Tiernan Macbride award for best Irish short at the Galway film fleadh. next concert: kindly supported by:

Composer and keyboardist Dylan Rynhart has been leading his nine-piece ensemble for the last seven years and it just keeps getting better. Mouthpiece is their second recording and marks a considerable advance on their first, New Hat. The leader's writing has become more assertive, with stronger melodies and more space for the soloists, and he has drawn into the ensemble several players, including guitarist Joe O'Callaghan and saxophonist Brian Wynne. Produced by German conductor Florian Ross and featuring top UK trumpeter Tom Arthurs, Fuzzy Logic now rate among the most daring and original musical ensembles working in Ireland today.
