Floris Boere

Floris Boere is a young but skilled pianist and composer, with experience playing music for over 18 years. He is a writing member of the original pop band Rexford, plays jazz with his own quartet and holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from NYU, at which he served as an Adjunct Faculty member. Perceptive of the fact that an instrument does not impose limits on who can be your mentor, he studied music with pianist Jean-Michel Pilc, guitarist Wayne Krantz and drummer Tony Moreno.

He moved from his hometown Amsterdam to New York to put his pursuit of a career in music in second gear. During his early years in Holland he had the chance to study extensively with Dutch piano virtuoso Bert van den Brink, who gave him the necessary tools to teach the instrument to himself. Immediately after arriving in the US, Floris realized he wanted to write more music, and so he did. Two years later, he is set to release his debut record titled “Going”, featuring eight original compositions recorded with his American quartet.
