My name is Gene Black. I grew up in New Orleans, in a musical family. I play drums, and bass professionally, and some other instruments, very unprofessionally. A list of artists that I have worked for includes: Leon Kid Chocolate Brown, Ellis Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Charmaine Neville, Wendell Brunious, Leroy Jones, Derek Douget, Brice Winston, Maurice Brown, Andre Hayward, Kermit Ruffins, and some others.
Willing to teach:
I taught for 3 summers at the Crescent City Drum Camp, directed by Harold Brown (War), I also taught privately at a studio in New Orleans, as well as owning my own music school in Houston, TX during the year following hurricane katrina. I have taught every level from beginner to college students.
