Golden Skipper

Yes, "Golden Skipper" is his real, given name (many people ask). Golden has always been of a musical mind and inclination, singing in various church and amateur groups throughout the Richmond area throughout the years. But, after retiring from a long career in the private sector, he decided to follow the urging of friends and family and dive in to singing as a soloist within a band. He has done so most recently with guitarist Gene Pendleton's "Sketches" band, where he can be hears singing crowd favorites such as "Sonny", "What You Won't Do For Love", and "Mornin'".

With a deep and shining baritone voice reminiscent of the likes of Lou Rawls, Golden not only sings beautifully, but is a wonderfully likable and kind individual to all who are acquainted with him. That persona shines through in his performances.
