Jan Eisen

Entertainment is no stranger to this vocalist. She’s been wowing audiences since the ripe ole’ age of 9 when she first toured with her parents throughout their home State of Connecticut, performing not only for returning vets at area hospitals, but also wherever an audience gathered in their name.

Her resolve, persistence and tenacity have gotten her through many road blocks during her career. “I certainly can’t go back to capture what I’ve lost in my youth,” she proclaims. “I’m doing my best to create an awesome ending. Every rough road can lead to the heights of greatness, if you keep moving forward.” And through the ever-changing decades of the industry, Jan Eisen has done just that. Despite life’s ups and downs, she has pressed onward working every venue, pushing the limit and never changing that smooth-sophisticated style she’s known for.

While living on the east coast, Jan was a successful entrepreneur, coordinating lavish corporate events through her company All Star Entertainment for major Fortune 500 companies as well as a special event company, Phantasy Revue which offered spectacular elaborate interaction productions with musicians, singers, dancers, imitation artists and the audience.

Jan has had the extreme pleasure of performing for Cy Coleman and shared the stage with such greats as Carol Channing, Maureen McGovern and Bonnie Raitt. She has also performed numerous jazz fests, galas and other special events on both the east and west coasts.

Her timeless energy and sultry style has captivated enthusiasts both young and old throughout her singing career, offering the ultimate romantic encounter that leaves her listeners walking away and not forgetting how she has made them feel. Jan loves to sing and record like the old greats use to … in that “old fashion club style setting” with her most favorite musicians milled together around her doing what they were all born to do … create magic for the mere pleasure of it.

Jan moved to California in 1995 and her distinct style has impressed west coast jazz lovers since then where she has performed for John Wayne Cancer Research, the Jerry Lewis MDA National Telethon, Catalina Jazz Series, The Queen Mary & Golden State Pop Orchestra. She has had the extreme honor of being accompanied by many of the industry’s most famous musicians including Emmy nominated pianist to Sarah Vaughn, George Gaffney, reknown bandleader, Joe Massimino, and world-leading drummer/percussionist/movie sound track artist, Alex Acuña to name a few.

Jan Eisen: Summer Me, Winter Me

There are several things to like about vocalist Jan Eisen's debut recording Summer Me, Winter Me. First, the use of a guitar quartet in place of the standard piano ensemble. Guitarist Jamie Findlay is more than up to the challenge of comping, playing rhythm guitar and taking some very effective solos beginning with a mid-tempo version of Rose/Hirsch's “Deed I Do". He continues on an up-tempo take on the Rodgers and Hart “With A Song In My Heart," as well ...

Some advice for jazz singers: record your disc as if it were a club date. Do it live in the studio; forget about headphones and separate booths, overdubs and tweaking stuff after the fact. Just do it, as they say. Let the music breathe. That's exactly what vocalist Jan Eisen does with Summer Me, Winter Me, and her music breathes deeply on this set of both well and lesser-known tunes from the Great American Songbook.A long-time entertainer who ...
