Jason Justice

Jason Justice stepped onstage for the first time at the age of 8. After that there was no stopping him from his passion, his path, in a way. That pathway has always led to the stage.

Jason's love of the theatre began in 1973 at Oral Roberts University Department of Broadcasting. In 1977 a saxophone was placed in his hands by his parents, and the whole family braced themselves for the caucophony of honks and squeaks that were destined to come. But "only tunes and clear notes came" as his mother, Janice, recalls. And thanks to a steady diet of 50s and 60s pressings from the Verve catalog, the direction was clear. Or was it?

Because of this love for the theatre, Jason spent the 1980s performing in regional and dinner theatres in Texas and Colorado. His credits include "Perchik" from Fiddler on the Roof, "Nicholas" from Nicholas Nickelby, "Ernst Ludwig" from Cabaret, "Arthur" from Camelot, and "Leading Player" in Pippin. He acted as music director and pit musician for Bernstein's West Side Story and director/music director of Sondheim's Side by Side. But through the over 40 productions Jason participated in, the saxophone has always called to him; in many ways, his true love.

Since 1990, Jason has played in many bands, from Dixieland to African Zouk (as saxophonist with the regionally renown Mondo Bizzaro), R&B (sax and vocals with Diana Castro and the Big Time), to jazz, cumbia to classical. Jason is a student of sound.

Jason spent three years as the Associate Director of the Jazz Celebration at Metro State, an educational music festival that featured such jazz greats as Lee Konitz, Terrance Blanchard, Victor Mendoza, Bobby Shew, the New York Voices and high school and middle school bands from the Colorado area.

Jason now devotes much of his time to a music education initiative he created call Instrumentos de la Libertad, or in English Instruments of Freedom. Instrumentos mission is to get instruments and music education to economically disadvantaged children on Denver's west side. There are currently 60+ kids enrolled in the program and more requesting admission every day.

Jason continues to provide clients with top quality entertainment for a competitive price. Our clients love the professionalism and service. We are committed to taking the worry out of hiring live music and musicians! We simply are the best.
