Jim Mair

Jim Mair Jim Mair is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in saxophone, flute, percussion, jazz piano and voice. He has been a full time college professor for over 20 years. In 2015 he was the recipient of an Honorary Degree from The University of West London (UK) London College of Music for his contributions to jazz education in North America and the United Kingdom. In 2014 he was the recipient of the Roueche Foundation League for Innovation Excellence in Education Award. In 2013 he was awarded Faculty of the Year at Kansas City Kansas Community College. As a director/performer, his groups have appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the IAJE Conference, Birdland in New York City along with the JVC Jazz Festival and Carnegie Hall
