Kevin Neal

Born in St. Louis, MO and raised outside of Pittsburgh, PA, Kevin was exposed to music at a very early age, studying piano and singing in church as a toddler. At age 10, he began studying the trombone and by age 15 had decided to dedicate himself to it full-time. In his teens Kevin attended the prestigious Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts and was playing professionally by age 16.

While attending Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music, Kevin began a long association with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, performing throughout North and South America as well as Japan. After completing his B.A., Kevin continued to travel throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia and North and South America before moving to New York City in 2000.

Since arriving in New York, Kevin has established himself as a freelance trombonist on the jazz, latin, swing and pop scenes. He has performed with a wide variety of artists, ranging from mainstream acts like Harry Belafonte and Carole King to the big bands of Bobby Sanabria, Bill Mobley and Russ Spiegel, as well as small groups such as the Gary Wofsey Jazz Quintet.

A former member of New York's Copacabana Orchestra, Kevin has also worked with dozens of legendary Latin recording artists, including Ismael Miranda, Andy Montanez, Eddie Santiago and Raulin Rosendo. His resume includes many contemporary Latin artists as well, including Frankie Negron, Kevin Ceballo and Michael Stuart.
