Les Veale

Influenced by pop radio and especially The Beatles, Les Veale has had a good ear for catchy tunes from a young age. He started playing drums in a pop covers band as a teenager and soon realized he wanted to make a living from music. Les then went to music college to broaden his musical knowledge, where he also took up piano and guitar. At college he got a taste for writing music and decided he wanted to get into songwriting, publishing and making records. After many diversions, Les is achieving that aim and has now set up his own publishing company and record label ‘LVM’. In 2009 Les released his first jazz album Girl In Blue and is currently recording a second album of original jazz songs. Les has also brought together a group of accomplished session players to record and perform live, under the name of The Session 8 Band. Three songs from Girl In Blue have already been signed to the UK’s leading jazz publisher Splash Point Music. Apart from making a living from songwriting, one of Les’s main aims, is for an internationally renowned vocalist to record one of his songs and to hear it on national radio.
