Miguel Sacristan

Miguel Sacristan Muñoz Professor of Piano and Composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.He has studied with Agustin Serrano, Luis de Pablo, Claudio Abbado, Nicanor Zabaleta and Padre Sopeña,Chair and Professor of Fine Arts, among others. His father Miguel Sacristan Ramos, Chair of Direction and Composition at the Conservatory, has been his mentor.

With a broad professional career, after  conducting the Pequeño Teatro de La Zarzuela in Madrid and various symphonic formations, he focuses on record and television production. He has been part of classical groups of Spanish pop like Pekeniques. Jazz Big Bands like Pepe Sanchez All Stars, or The Wall Big Band. Has collaborated with the Duo Dinamico, Mike Kennedy y los Bravos, Mari Trini, Massiel, la Decada Prodigiosa as well as other contemporary, Alejandro Sanz, David Bustamante, Kenneth Nash,and Lee Strassberg in USA.

He has written music for advertising campaigns for El Corte Ingles, DAF and has been part of the technical direction team in festivals such as the International Song Festival of Benidorm ,and the Eurovision Song Contest. He has worked with record producers Pepe Sanchez, Jesus Gluck, Alghero Augusto, Marini Callejo, Rafael Trabuchelli, Juan Carlos Calderon, Ricardo Miralles, Adolfo Rivero. He has played in several television programmes such as "New People"on (RTVE), "Jazz entre amigos" on (RTVE), "Music is the track" on (Channel 9), and "The Smile of the Pelican"on (Tele 5).

He has won numerous prizes and awards, a nomination for the Goya Awards, and is an Honorary Colonel in the U.S., appointed by the Governor of Louisiana, Edwin Edwards in 1986. Although he has not stopped the record and television production, currently, he centers his activity on teaching, and the interpretation and production of his own compositions with his group in different scenarios.

Profesor de Direccion, Piano y Composicion por el Real Conservatorio de Musica de Madrid. Ha estudiado con Agustin Serrano, Luis de Pablo, Claudio Abbado, Nicanor Zabaleta, el Catedratico y Academico de las Bellas Artes Padre Sopeña entre otros, o el que considera su principal maestro, su padre Miguel Sacristan Ramos, Catedratico de Direccion y Composicion del Conservatorio.

Con una amplia carrera, despues de la Direccion de La Zarzuela del Pequeño Teatro de Madrid y tras el paso por diferentes formaciones sinfonicas, se centra en la produccion discografica y de Television. Ha formado parte de grupos clasicos del pop español, como Pekeniques; Jazz Big Bands como Pepe Sanchez All Stars, o The Wall Big Band. Ha colaborado con el Duo Dinámico, Mike Kennedy y los Bravos, Mari Trini, Massiel, la Decada Prodigiosa, o con artistas contemporaneos como Alejandro Sanz, David Bustamante, Kenneth Nash o Lee Strassberg en USA.
