Mike Migliore

One of NYC's busiest saxophonists for decades Mike was born in Buffalo, New York and began playing professionally at age 14 in area bands and with his own group, a trio with Billy Sheehan on bass and Ron Wagner on drums. While still in high school he toured Sweden with the Buffalo State Jazz Ensemble. Soon after he was guest soloist with the Buffalo Philharmonic and began touring with Maynard Fergusons' Band. Upon leaving Maynard he settled in NYC working with Gerry Mulligan, Woody Herman, Vanguard Orchestra, Machito , Chico O'Farrill, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Doc Severinson, Bob Belden Ensemble and many others touring most of Europe, Japan and the U.S. Classical work includes World Premiere of Quintet for Saxophone and Strings by Manny Albam at Carnegie Hall, New York Pops Orchestra, American Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, and Orchestra of St. Lukes. Pop gigs have included Frank Sinatra,Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson,Lena Horne, Natalie Cole and many more. He has also played on over 100 Cds, and scores of Broadway shows and commercials. Mike was also Adjunct Professor at NYU for ten years.
