Alex Pangman

Specializing in the popular music of the late 1920s, 1930s and early 1940s, and posessing a spark for the underplayed gems of that era, she has been thrice nominated at the Canadian National Jazz Awards, has composed and sung for film, opened for Bob Newhart, played main stages at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Beaches International Jazz Festival as well as having made national television and radio appearances. Her First disc, “They Say,”(1999) was followed by “Can't Stop Me From Dreaming”, (2001) on Toronto's Sensation Label. Her most recent disc “Live in Montreal” was released to great acclaim in 2005 on the Real Gone Gal label, and in 2006 she released a 78rpm recording on the same label to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims.
