What do you do when you are a Latinamerican Jazz Vocalist from Motown, living in Canada?
Anna Lyman is half Mexican, speaks and sings in English,Spanish, and Portuguese, (also speaks some Brazilian Portuguese, thanks to the Brazilian relatives! ), and was born in Detroit, and lives on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
Anna's new compositions fuse together Jazz, Latin, and the Motown sensibilities she grew up with. She calls her new music Bluenote-Latin-Jazz, and her original songs are written in both Spanish and English in almost every track. Her new CD “Sway - Quien Sera” features 5 of Anna's fusion creations, the Title track “Sway”, by Pablo Ruiz Beltran, in Span. & Eng., and 3 Brazilian tracks in Portuguese (2 of them also in English). In Summer 008, Anna completed a Bachelor of Music from VIU, viw.ca.
Anna studied the UKULELE with Master Instructor/Performer, Kimo Hussey, and is now writing and performing with the instrument, as well as with her quartet. Right now, Anna is allowing genre boundaries to blur as she experiments with her new sound.

Okanagan University College for 8 years. Now teaching and
performing with ukulele, certified by Master Instructor, Kimo
Hussey.

commercially for pay). Does not teach Classical, but enjoys
teaching light Opera.
