Claudio Campadello

He began as a child to play piano as self-taught and at eleven he began musical studies, first with guitar and then with bass and double-bass, under the guidance of F. Petracchi.

He got first-class degree, and then he perfected at Fiesole school, W. Stauffer Academy of Cremona and Chigiana of Siena.

As regards modern music he is a self-taught (Blues/Jazz), having as reference point the main international schools of Modern Music.

When he was 19 begins to play professional. He took part to national tournee with famous italian Pop singers and with various jazz band, trio and Big Band (G. Iacoucci, S. Nistico, M. Zazzarini, G. Ascolese, R. Giuliani, C. Santucci). Some of his music have been appreciated by Bruno Canfora who used them for funky ballets in RAI television programmes.

In 1985 he pass the auditions at Petruzzelli Theatre of Bari, RAI (Italian National Television) orchestra, and the selection for ECYO (Young European Orchestra). He begins a classical activity playing in the main Italian and European theatres and concert-hall.

He works with: Young Italian Orchestra (1986/87); RAI orchestras of Napoli and Roma from 1986 to 1994; with Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia from 1990 to 1994; with chamber strings ensembles as "Roma Sinfonietta", "Gruppo Musica Oggi", "Camerata Strumentale di Napoli". The most important musicians he worked with: L. Bernstein, G. Sinopoli, S. Accardo, E. Imbal, D. Oren, L. Mazhel, M. Pollini, C.M. Giulini, B. Canino, K. Ricciarelli ecc. He played as first double-bass with: Orch. RAI, Sinfonica Calabrese, Orch. Internazionale d'Italia, International Chamber Ensamble.
