David's musical experiences range from opera to soukous to avant garde to jazz to brass quintet to orchestra to Zappa (Bogus Pomp) and so on. He has been soloist and/or composer with the BONK New Music Festival, Subtropics New Music Festival, Society of Composers, SEAMUS and performed and recorded with Cecil Taylor, Sam Rivers, Eugene Chadbourne, Davey Williams and other innovators. His recordings include “Modern Music for Trombone”, “Particle Zoo”, “Fluid Motion” (with Sam Rivers), “Beast” and “Infinita Bossa”.
David directs the EMIT series of adventurous music at the Salvador Dali Museum and leads Brazilian group O Som Do Jazz and the Helios Jazz Orchestra. David teaches jazz, low brass and recording arts at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida.
