Jacques Butler

I saw/heard Jacques Butler play with his band at La Cigale in Paris many times from 1954-1956. Elegantly dressed always with a crisp white "Mr B" rolled collar & tie, thin moustache, slicked hair and a band of swinging crazies - a great (older) trombonist and a wild drummer - he packed the place and he SWUNG. Always a solid tone and a driving sense of melody and rhythm. "Perdido" was one of my favorites, and I yelled for it every time I was there.
