Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters is Sydney's original, entertaining 1920s Speakeasy trio - sextet featuring Sydney's only authentic 1920s singer, Greg Poppleton.
Formed in 2003 by world-touring, vintage jazz festival headliners, Greg Poppleton and the Bakelite Broadcasters, have built up a dedicated following across Sydney and overseas.

Greg Poppleton (Sydney’s only authentic 1920s singer, Bakelite Broadcasters front man and band leader) Entertainer. Sung with all of Sydney’s vintage jazz greats since 2003 at events ranging from the 2012 Bledisloe Cup Ball to the Centenary Of Canberra 1920s Concert. For 13 years Greg has been mentored by the same eccentric opera singer who booked Sarah Vaughan, Cab Calloway, Anita O’Day and many more into his famous New York nightclub, The Continental Baths, and who discovered Bette Midler and Barry Manilow. Greg has appeared in Chronicles of Narnia Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, Footy Legends, Hunts Angels, Dirty Deeds, Moulin Rouge, Underbelly, Cops LAC, Kangaroo Gang, My Place and 55 TV commercials.
Greg is a multi-award-winning jazz broadcaster, winning the national CBAA best music show award in 2007, and on-air since 1985. His weekly Phantom Dancer show is now heard on over 30 radio stations across Australia. His has made jazz docos for ABC Radio National.
