“...Cervini neatly straddles the line between confessional balladeering and breezy swing. Covers of Leonard Cohen’s “Famous Blue Raincoat” and Fiona Apple’s “Extraordinary Machine” are worth the price of admission all by themselves, but pianist Michael Cabe’s solid accompaniment, bassist Mark Lau’s deft counterpoint and drummer Ernesto Cervini’s lithe timekeeping move the entire set along nicely.” --Steve Smith, Time Out NY

“This is a delightful musical surprise...[Cervini] presents songs with enough heart to convince a listener of her sincerity and enough musical talent to make it worth listening.” --Bob Karlovits, The Pittsburgh Tribune- Review

“...tasteful sounds suggest both youth and wisdom...worth hearing from track 1 through 10...freshly appealing voice...moving music.” --Geoff Chapman, The Toronto Star

“Famous Blue, by vocalist Amy Cervini and her quartet, is a marvelous example of the way jazz can be stretched to encompass almost any musical style...The attraction of Famous Blue is that it bends and warps any preconceptions that the listener might have, and, in real time, resists being labeled. This can even happen in the middle of a tune, which initially sounds as if it belongs in the pop or folk pigeonhole, only to drift over to jazz and then back. Once this happens a few times, you might begin to question any assumption you have made about jazz, or any music for that matter.” -- Budd Kopman, AAJ
