Slow tempos, melancholic moods and the sound of the saxophone, Somewhere off Jazz Street blends jazz, electronics and improvisation to create a soundtrack for the late hours of the night. The music is written and performed by Buz Hendricks, a former student of New York jazz pianist Joanne Brackeen, and touches on the genres of jazz, darkjazz and jazz noir.
Born in Philadelphia, Buz has worked in rock and jazz bands, taught piano and received a National Endowment for the Arts grant for jazz piano. The music is available for free download on the Somewhere off Jazz Street website.
