Among Craig Buhler’s 5 self-produced recordings are a swing dance CD, a live jazz CD, and his latest, an adaptation of jazz for youth.
He has been a professional jazz, rock, & dance musician for 20 years, having participated in over 25 recordings and live appearances in Europe, Asia, & North America with 100+ bands.
Craig’s career began with the very popular California rock band “HONK!”, which recorded 4 LP / CD’s and toured internationally with “The Beach Boys,” “Chicago,” and “Loggins & Messina.”
He studied music at UCLA & the University of Redlands and earned an M.S. from the University of Washington.
For the past 8 years, Craig has produced jazz concerts & workshops for students ages 6 to 16 in schools throughout the Northwest.
He currently holds the first tenor sax chair in Sequim’s Stardust big band. While still in Seattle, Craig was first tenor sax for the NW Gospel Jazz big band.
Craig is an Artist Clinician for the Music Group (formerly Boosey & Hawkes Musical Instrument Company.) He sings & plays soprano, alto, & tenor saxophones, clarinet, & flute. Audiences enjoy hearing Craig play 2 saxes at once!
