Eric van de Kerkhof

Born in Weert, Holland and still residing there, Eric began playing the guitar at the age of 12 inspired by the classic Kiss album “Alive 1”.

By the time Eric reached the age of twenty, he performed in several bands. Most notable from this era of his formative career was the band DREAMER where he was also the lead singer. With this band he won a contest “NU of NOOIT”. The band played as opening act at the PINKPOP festival. In this period Eric played also in a rock to soul bluesband where he travelled back and forth across Holland playing live gigs. 1994 Eric was asked to join the band MENNEN at the age of twenty three. The first album was released in 1995 and was succesfull in Japan and Italy.

Between live gigs Eric was asked to do clinics for ESP guitars and HUGHES and KETNER amps.

Between 1996 and 2006 Eric recorded 4 more studio albums with MENNEN. After working with producer Erwin Musper (Van Halen, Def Leppard) in the Wisseloordstudio's in Holland, MENNEN started recording their sixth album in the USA (Cincinnati) in Erwin's own studio. They also did a couple of shows there, with their second live album “Freak ALIVE” as a result.

Eric studied jazz guitar in the last four years, very much inspired by Al di Meola. At the end of 2006 he wrote 7 pieces for his first solo album.

2007 Eric decided to quit the band Mennen to focus on his solo career. He recorded his first album “Perfect Lives”.

2008 “Perfect Lives” will be released. This album is a mix between latin - jazzrock - fusion which is totally different from the kind of music he wrote in the past. It was a real challenge.

Further details of “Perfect Lives” will soon be announced!

In the future there are lot of new things on the way: live performances, new projects, CD releases and so on.
