New Zealand saxophonist Roger Manins has previously recorded with Mike Nock & James Muller. This is his debut album for Jazzgroove (originally released on Ode in New Zealand) and features Manins with his Hip Flask band. HIP FLASK includes 7 original tracks composed by Roger Manins.

One of the most exciting & explosive saxophonists in Australasia, Roger Manins has spent much of his career based in Sydney & New York. Manins lectures at Massey University in Wellington & regularly performs in Australia & New Zealand.
Manins is also a member of the Vaughn Roberts Big Band and features on their new album “Great Stuff” (Rata Records, via Ode), released in October 2005.
