Born: May 6    Primary Instrument: Vocal

Winner of the Orange County Music Award® for Best Jazz Artist 2004, Cris Barber is considered one of the premier jazz vocalists in Southern California. Often compared to Diana Krall, Cris' smooth and captivating vocal style, along with the Quintet's top-tier professional musicians, bring a new life and an energetic style to SWINGS, STANDARDS, LATIN/BOSSA NOVA, BLUES and CONTEMPORARY JAZZ.

Cris has been delighting audiences for well over a decade performing in some of the area's top venues. Her fun, dynamic and energetic vibe is a perfect compliment to any special occasion, wedding reception or party.

Music Connection Magazine writes: 'Cris Barber is an impressive vocalist with a great band and handles a wide variety of material with ease....she could be in a position to compete with Diana Krall and Norah Jones.”

With 3 CDs in release -- and a fourth now in production -- Cris is receiving accolades from around the world, including top 10 airplay and accompanying CD Sales in Europe, the U.S., Japan and Australia. Her fourth CD, yet untitled, is expected to see release in early 2008.
