The Soul Deacons have been around for some time now. Since Brother E. Clayton received the “Vision,” he put the Soul Deacons together in 1999, at the dawn of a new millennium. The vision was to capture the sounds of an era gone by. The trick was to “Deaconize” these songs with a new and contemporary twist, without losing the original R&B feel. This is just what he did and the response has been amazing. The reviews on the first Soul Deacon CD, “Uptown,” have all come in, from around the world, with a rousing “Thumbs Up.” This 7 piece band consists of Mark Esquibel on drums and vocals, Jimmy Martinez on Bass and vocals, Steve “Blueberry” Hill on guitar and vocals, Steve O’Neill on keyboards and vocals, Trey Keepin on tenor sax, Nick Thompson on Baritone and tenor sax and of course, Brother E. Clayton on lead vocals and guitar. Maybe it’s the Santa Fe, NM air or maybe just the love of the music, that sets this band apart from the rest of the musical “crowd,” but you’ll agree that this is a very exciting and very musical group.

Isn’t it time you were “Deaconized”!
