Born: August 24, 1971 Primary Instrument: Trumpet
Chuck Gottesman is one of the most active trumpet players in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. His ability to perform with expertise in many styles has made him first-call with many area bandleaders and brides-to-be. The press has called Gottesman “a monster … his flugelhorn playing is as warm as Art Farmer’s, while his trumpet playing seems to sizzle with a different set of ideas.” As an undergraduate at Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music, Gottesman was a student of famed trumpeter and educator Seymour Rosenfeld. Mr. Rosenfeld encouraged all of his students to be well- rounded trumpet players, so Mr. Gottesman performed in the university’s Symphony Orchestra as well as lead trumpet in the Jazz Band....
