Evan Marien

Evan Marien is an award-winning bassist, composer, producer, and budding 3D artist born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009 and has lived in the NYC area since 2010.

He’s known primarily for his solo recordings and a duo project with Dana Hawkins, but more recently he has been heard playing bass in the bands of Tigran HamasyanWayne KrantzElliot Moss and was honored to be the last bassist in guitar legend Allan Holdsworth’s band.

He has collaborated on his own albums with Cory Wong, Tigran Hamasyan, Plini, Fredrik Thordendal, Tim Miller, Intervals, Mario Camarena from Chon, Louis Cole, Nate Wood, and so many more.

His latest release is the album ‘Elysian’, featuring Dana Hawkins, Tigran Hamasyan, Fredrik Thordendal, Plini, Intervals, J3PO, Tim Miller, Cory Wong, Zac Zinger, Button Masher, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson.

His bass playing can be heard on the Mitski song Nobody (receiving a gold record) from the album ‘Be The Cowboy’, and the songs Should’ve Been Me & That’s Our Lamp from her most recent album “Laurel Hell”.

Evan composes commercial music in partnership with MadeMusicStudio, composing music for the likes of AT&T, Lexus & NPR, and most recently won a 2022 CLIO award for composing the sonic logo and anthem for Turner Classic Movies (TCM).

In his spare time, he hangs out with his wife Danielle & dog Pepper and loves playing video games like Elden Ring, FFVII, & Skyrim.
