Welcome to the home of Cytosoul. We are a Seattle based quartet who compose original music, mixing jazz improvization, classical waltzes, boleros, and art-songs. The melodically captivating, lush, dynamic arrangements give the music a certain intimacy that audiences can enjoy at a live performance or on our debut album “Balance”, available now on CD Baby.
In April, 2007, the group was featured on a Sonarchy radio broadcast in Seattle, WA. The four musicians were so intently tuned into each other that they performed one of their most expressive performances of their material (and even wrote a new song on the fly). With all but one song taken from this broadcast, the group has put together their first CD, “Balance.” Though classified as jazz, each member's varied background in classical and folk music comes through in the compositions and performances for this work. Cytosoul's melodically captivating, lush dynamic arrangements make this a CD to be explored and savored from start to finish. Cytosoul is Birch Pereira (bass), Cynthia Dillard (Piano/Voice), Art Brown (saxophone) and Adam Gross (drums).
