A sense of wonder has always been trumpeter Josh McDonald's guide. He is currently located in Boston, as a Presidential Fellow at Boston University. However, he also has three Bachelors of Arts degrees in Philosophy, Psychology, and Political Science from the Smittcamp Family Honors College at CSU, Fresno.

He maintains an active playing schedule, having played with many bands based in Oregon, California, and Massachusetts, including: the After Dinner Mints, the Moonlight Jazz Orchestra, Altered Youth, Fibonacci Cubed, the David Aus Ensemble, the Jazz Composer’s Orchestra, Protean Visions, the Russ Wilcox Ensemble, the Train and the River Ensemble, the BU Big Band, Bon Jazzy, Infinite Out, and the Kevin McDonald Fellowship. He is also the executive producer of the Fresno Creative Music Workshop.

When not performing, studying, or working, he enjoys soccer, gluten-free muffins, green tea, and Walden Pond... the place, not the book.
