Buddy Jones

Buddy Jones was born in Lake Tahoe, CA. Though he grew up in the hot desert of Arizona he finds himself living in cold climates like Boston & New York. He started guitar at age eleven & submerged himself into music. Buddy would pickup anything he could get his ears on like rock & blues. His first influences of guitarists like Jimi Hendrix were invaluable. While attending an art high school in Phoenix he ventured into jazz.

Later going on to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA under his World Tour Scholarship. He was also awarded along the way for his five years of teaching before college and his contribution to his students’ development.With guidance and instruction from great players and educators to name a few John Wilkins, Jim Kelly, Sheryl Bailey, Dave Debree, Jon Wheatley, Jim Zupancic & Larry Baione. Howard Alden, George Van Eps, & Bucky Pizzarelli who’s seven string (lap piano) work had influenced Buddy explore the traditional guitarists.

Buddy strives to play with the most innovative and talented musicians around the world and help shape his students musical skills.

Teaching beneficial practical fun musical application of knowledge and skills on the instrument is my primary goal with each student. Each person learns differently. This is known as a “modality”. Auditory – By ear, or tonal instruction Kinesthetic – By feel, learns from physically being shown, a “hands-on” learner Visual – By sight, by fret board position memory and shape. depending on your location I can make house calls, reserve your slot, first come first serve, space is limited. $25 half hour $40 an hour call me with any questions you may have. 602.373.4621
