Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis breathes new life into existing styles with his high-energy brand of Classical, Gypsy Jazz, Celtic and World music. His improvised sound is unique and has popular appeal.
Classically trained and widely regarded as the inheritor of the Stephane Grappelli crown, Kliphuis first made his name playing with the fiery European gypsy guitarists but soon developed a crossover style taking him to classical, jazz and folk venues across the world.
Tim’s Mel Bay tuition book “Stéphane Grappelli Gypsy Jazz Violin” is a bestseller and his Hot Jazz Violin DVDs received rave reviews. He is jazz violin teacher at the Conservatoire of Tilburg, Holland, and a popular improvisation workshop leader at festivals, orchestras and competitions.

“Kliphuis plays with an astonishingly fluid versatility, incorporating
funky slurs, whooping hoedown flourishes” - Time Out
This was a charming, uplifting performance from a future great.
Kliphuis’s music will take you back to a simpler point in time. He
has the world at his feet ... check him out.
