Born: August 9, 1990    Primary Instrument: Drums

Dan's passion for music began early in his life, and was further solidified when he began studying classical piano at age 7. At age 10 he began to show an interest in the drums as well, with guidance from his peers and teachers, soon developed a passion for jazz. He currently lives in Montréal, QC, where he attends the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, pursuing a double major in jazz drums and classical piano. He currently studies with the well-acclaimed Dave Laing, as well as the renowned Tom Plaunt for classical piano studies.

Dan also completed the level 4 certificate program at the New England Conservatory Preparatory Jazz school, where he graduated with high honors. Both the Litchfield Jazz Camp in CT and the Eastman Summer Jazz Studies program helped develop his passion and skill as a musician. He was recognized nationally by the Gibson / Baldwin GRAMMY Band as a finalist in 2008. He was named an outstanding soloist at many festivals around New England, including the IAJE state finals and the UNH Jazz Festival.

Dan also does a lot of collaborative piano work, including musical theater, accompanying instrumentalists & vocalists, chamber ensembles, and other classical or modern groups needing a pianist.
