Andreas Hertel studied jazz-piano with Achim Kaufmann in Mainz, Germany and visited workshops with Simon Nabatov and Kenny Werner, among others. Main projects are the Andreas Hertel Quintet, playing original compositions of Andreas, and the swing-jazz-trio Tea for Three, playing standards and featuring guests, e.g. Jens Bunge on harmonica. The jazz pianist has been giving concerts all over Germany in jazz-clubs, at festivals, and at openings and other events. As leader of the band Composer's Voice, he published two cd's with original compositions, which were broadcast in radio and tv. He composed music for several theatre plays. In 2009, three compositions of Andreas are going to be printed in a new german jazz realbook. In october 2008, the quintet's new cd My Kind of Beauty was released on Klangraum Records Mainz.
