Ava Lemert

Ava Lemert is an expressive vocalist, passionate saxophonist and a unique entertainer.

Ava has performed before thousands at ARCO Arena, home of the NBA Kings, on local TV: Good Day Sacramento, the #1 weekend news program in Sacramento); and Sacramento and Company, as well as on KCRA singing the National Anthem in 2000 for the CA State Fair. Notable venues and locales Ava has performed in include the historic Sacramento Masonic Temple, Harlow's, Torch Club (which has hosted such jazz/blues luminaries as Ella Fitzgerald), Oshima’s Fugu Lounge, Po' Boyz, Catta Verdera Country Club, Timber Creek Events Center and many more including several Amador County wineries, and Lake Tahoe. She plays many types of events from intimate private shows, dinner parties, and restaurants to corporate events, “Sacramento Second Saturday” gallery receptions as well as for our elder citizens at assisted living communities.

Ava has several commercial releases in her growing discography, including six singles and her debut contemporary jazz CD “From My Soul”. Since its release December, 2009 her self-produced CD has enjoyed international airplay and is being distributed on all the major e-tailers such as iTunes and Amazon.com, and physical copies grace the shelves of several “brick and mortar” shops in Austria, Japan, the Netherlands and the U.K. Her second CD “From Another Time” will officially launch on Valentine's Day, 2011 and is a collection of twelve favorites from the American Songbook. Spanning a wide range of styles from blues, jazz and even country, Ava shows off her vocal range and dynamic saxophone play on evergreens such as “Stormy Weather” and the tender “Tennessee Waltz”.

Ava's music projects have been graced by international recording artists such as Roger Smith (Tower of Power), Dante “Taz” Roberson (Najee), Cam Perridge (Tony Toni Tone'), James Davis (Winans Family), and Derrick Hall (Edwin Hawkins). Ava Lemert's own music is a variety-packed blend of jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll, contemporary R&B, latin jazz, funk and smoldering soul that reminds one of the classics of the 1970’s era.

As a live act, Ava sings and plays her alto and tenor saxophones while accompanied by professionally-produced digital tracks. With over 190 songs in her catalog, Ava customizes her shows and blends standards, originals, smooth jazz, vocals, ballads, pop, blues, bossa nova and many other styles. She is an incredible performer whose vocals require no auto-tuning, no soundboard tricks to dazzle her audience. One has to see and hear Ava perform live to fully appreciate her rare natural talent as not only a vocalist, but also a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.

Soulful, jazzy, saxy, funky, fresh blend of powerful vocal and saxophones by Ms. Lemert. Seductive, addictive real instruments, music made the way it used to be but with a contemporary soul and vibe. Some fast funk, some smooth sexy, for sax lovers!

There is something on here for everyone who visits these pages, and if you check out the sound samples on CD Baby then I think you'll agree that this is a worthwhile purchase to kick off your soulful squandering in 2010! B. Towler, SoulChoonz.com

Such energy, zest, drive, and skill on the sax make this young lady one to watch. The album simply drips with enthusiasm, clearly from her soul, and it’s plain to see (or hear) that she wants you to know she was having a party in the studio throughout the entire time that she was laying down the tracks for this collection of really well-produced R&B-laced smooth nuggets.
